Details are being leaked concerning Samsung's upcoming wearable technology, the Galaxy Buds 3 and the next-gen Galaxy Watch. A promotional image of the earbuds was posted on Samsung’s own forums by a user named AffinityNexa. This surprising post showcases the earbuds housed in a case featuring a transparent top, and sports a tagline that states, “Where audio meets AI.”
This intriguing tagline suggests that Samsung's Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro may feature some level of AI integration. The specific type of AI functionality remains uncertain, but could resemble how Nothing earbuds cooperate with ChatGPT. These Nothing earbuds allow users to talk with ChatGPT through a pinch-to-speak feature. We expect Samsung may have similar ambitions, with a probable connection to Google Gemini instead.
The strong collaborations between these two technology giants have been noticeable in 2024. Samsung's Galaxy S24 series currently sports a Circle to Search feature and offering easier access to Gemini Nano via the Galaxy Buds3 could be the next significant upgrade in this flourishing partnership.
Design Innovation
The Galaxy Buds3 are also rumoured to boast other features according to this forum leak. Our source, AffinityNexa, suggests Samsung is revamping its audio gear with a new design that likely includes a stem protruding from the primary body, similar to AirPods.
This claimed design upgrade isn't merely aesthetic – it's aimed at enhancing controls and improving microphone quality. Moreover, the earbuds are expected to house “new internal drivers” for improved audio performance. Battery longevity is also promised, although the specific duration remains unknown. Other notable features include an IP57 resistance rating, allowing temporary water submersion, and an Adaptive EQ for on-the-go sound profile adjustments.
Galaxy Watch's Fresh Look
When it comes to Galaxy Watches, the news website YTECHB revealed information from a European retailer about the expected cost and color options of these future wearables. They speculate that the 40mm Galaxy Watch7 will be priced at €314 ($337 approximately), while the 44mm version may come with a price tag of €345 ($370 approximately). The Galaxy Watch Ultra is projected to be significantly pricier at €699 (roughly $750).
The Galaxy Watch7 series is reportedly going to be offered in Cream, Green, or Silver. Samsung’s premium Galaxy Watch Ultra is expected to come in three color options: Titanium Gray, Titanium Silver, and Titanium White. It remains unclear if “Titanium” refers to the construction material or merely the color's name. Based on previous whispers, we believe it represents the former and that the wearable will likely feature a titanium casing.
It's critical to remember that this is a rumor and the details are prone to change. We will have a clearer picture soon enough at Samsung’s forthcoming Unpacked event, which could be scheduled for July 10. A promotional banner confirming the date was found on a Dutch phone carrier website.
