The recall applies to all Yoto Mini speakers sold between November 2021 and April 2024, totaling 251,165 speakers in the US and 19,271 speakers in Canada. The affected speakers have the product SKU PRPLXX00860, which is printed on the device.
Do you have to send your whole speaker back to Yoto?
No, you do not need to send back the entire speaker. Yoto is offering affected customers a free replacement charging cable to keep the battery charge within safe limits and minimize the risk of overheating. Yoto has also released a software update to improve battery management.
How do you get your replacement Yoto Mini charging cable?
To receive the replacement cable, visit the Yoto website and enter the serial number of your device. Then, cut your current charging cable in half, take a photo, and upload it to the website.
